Three questions running through my work

Do we see less far when we feel low?

People with depressive symptoms judge objects to be less reachable and seats less usable. The action possibilities they perceive are reduced. Published in Psychonomic Bulletin & Review, Attention, Perception, & Psychophysics.

What can an eye movement tell us?

Saccadic eye movements contribute to characterising certain disorders — late-life depression, Alzheimer's disease. A non-invasive measure, to be set alongside others. Published in Archives of Clinical Neuropsychology, Aging & Mental Health.

Is burnout a depression?

A commonly accepted distinction — and one that holds up poorly against the data. Published in The Lancet, American Journal of Psychiatry, Clinical Psychology Review.
